World Indigenous Suicide Prevention Conference 2020 Date Change.
Our organization, First Nations Health and Social Secretariat of Manitoba and our International Advisory Committee have been monitoring the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic and considering the implications on the upcoming World Indigenous Suicide Prevention Centre 2020.
Our priority is the health and safety of our attendees. Many of our communities and organizations regionally and nationally have put travel bans in place until further notice which limits future travel plans.
To support communities in their initiated travel bans and to prevent the spread of COVID-19, it was decided that we will push the conference back until May 2021. We sincerely apologize in advance for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
Our decision was not made lightly, it was based on ensuring the health and wellbeing of our communities during this time.
Once a date has been set, it will be posted here and on our social media.
